Helpful tips for being a Full-Time SAHM.
Feeling overwhelmed… stressed… anxious about being a SAHM to TWINSS? This was exactly how I felt when my husband went back to work after have SIX months of paternity leave. But I’m here to give some helpful tips that help me along the way and can hopefully help you especially if you are home alone w| them most of the day.
First, schedule…schedule…SCHEDULE… I cannot stress this enough to you if you…especially if you have twins or more in your household. Our babies did have a schedule coming home from their nicu stay and we literally just followed what was done in the nicu and then adjusted to our regular life | daily schedule. Figure out what works w| your daily life and merge it w| your twin schedule and stick to it.
Be CONSISTENT! I know it may get pretty boring w| doing the SAME thing everyday but I promise it is so worth it. I feel like when you are being consistent you can find ways to incorporate some YOU time in the mist of juggling little babies!! I found w| myself staying consistent with sticking to our schedule when they are down for naps…or in between feedings…etc. This would also be my time to eat…shower…clean… do a face mask… SOMETHING that makes me feel good; like sitting in silence and or scrolling IG on the couch!!
ASK for help. I struggle w| this BIG time and still to this day struggle w| it and realize that it’s okay to ask for help. I feel like we (WOMEN) get so caught up in doing bad all by ourselves until the burnout starts and the sad and depression kicks in! So get you some help girl and lean on the ones who is there for you and WANT to help even without you having to ask!
Lastly, if you can hire a house cleaner…we have someone to come in monthly to deep clean the house and then I just clean as I go. I will say I’m pretty particular and like things a certain way in our home so I am always straightening up. Lol It makes me feel better when things are organized and in order. (The dishwasher is my bestfriend) Tidy up your space girl…. It really does make a hell of a difference.
If you have some helpful tips that I didn’t mention let me know and maybe I can incorporate them into my daily life as well.
